Art & Craft Classes in Nottingham

Whether you're new to arts and crafts or have experience but want to brush up on your skills, we have something for everyone to enjoy. All our classes and workshops are taught by professional tutors and many even include the use of specialist tools and equipment. We also provide tea, coffee and biscuits to help keep the creativity flowing.

Our weekly classes include:

  • Most of our weekly classes are £10 per week with you providing your own materials, with the exception of card making, which is £12.50 with materials provided, and silversmithing which is £15.

Our half & full day workshops include:

We run regular full day and some half day Saturday workshops from either 10:30am-4:00pm or 10:30am-1:30pm. Prices range from £25 - £70. Some include materials, but please check individual details for each workshop. Lunch can be ordered from The Local Not Global Deli who put together a special menu for us. Alternatively you can bring your own. We have a kitchen area with a fridge and microwave. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.

Silversmithing - leaf pendant with Jessica Noonan. Saturday 8th December 10.30am-1.30pm. £45 including all materials.
On this 3 hour workshop you will create a silver leaf pendant using some basic fold forming techniques. You will learn the techniques with copper sheet before moving onto sterling silver for your final piece. 
Fold forming is a silversmithing technique which was developed by Charles Lewton-Brain in the 1980s. You can create beautiful flowing, organic shapes not usually associated with sheet metal.

After Christmas - why not book as a Christmas present for a loved one?
Saturday 19th January - Printmaking with Helen Nowell. 10.30am-4.00pm. £50 including some materials.
This day class will allow you to learn and experiment with different methods of printmaking to create interesting pieces of artwork.  We will consider more traditional and faster methods of print making such as mono-printing and linocutting to more contemporary methods of printmaking such as using frisk film to create templates. This day workshop offers you the opportunity to design your own templates and create multiple prints. Printmaking classes are very hands on and you will produce lots of work within the day.  Advice and guidance is offered throughout the class in a friendly and relaxed environment.  Demonstrations are also provided to enhance learning.

Saturday 26th January - Foldforming leaf pendant with Jessica Noonan. 10.30am-1.30pm. £45 including materials.

Saturday 2nd February - Portraiture and the Human Form. 10.30am-4.00pm. £40 including one sheet of Murano pastel paper.
This day workshop aims to build attendees confidence in proportion with regards to depicting the face and body.  If you are interested in signing up to the class please indicate your ability level and specific interests when signing up.  This will be taken into consideration as the tutor tries to tailor tuition based on who has signed up.
With the class we will be using pencils, charcoals or pastels.  The material you choose to use will be down to the individual level and interests of the class attendee.  The tutor will provide some guidance as to which medium would be best for ability level and image that class attendees wish to depict.  Pastels are one of the fastest mediums to render subjects.  Tips and tricks will be given on the day that will allow your drawings to feel more lifelike where we will also consider specific features in more detail.

Advice, demonstrations and suggested exercises are given on the day to help class attendees learning experiences. Aprons are available if you wish to use one.

Saturday 9th February - Mosaics. 10.30am-1.30pm. £25 plus either £10 or £12 in cash on the day for materials (depending whether you have an A5 or A4 plaque).
This 3 hour workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some experience. Learn the techniques to produce an A5 or A4 plaque. You could make something for Christmas, a house number or any other design you can think of. Sarah will discuss and help you to create a design for the plaque. You will then decorate your A5 or A4 piece of wood with small tiles, broken china, beads and shells.

Saturday 2nd March - Silversmithing spinner ring with Jessica Noonan. 10.30am-4.00pm. £70 including materials
Make a wide band with silver sheet and add 3 thin or 1 wide spinning band around the outside. Add texture with hammers to create a unique piece of jewellery. To book a place email: [email protected]
Saturday 23rd March - Trees with Oliver Lovley. 10.30am-4pm. £40 excluding materials.

Full refunds will be issued if the workshop is cancelled or if you cancel more than 2 weeks before. Cancellations less than 2 weeks before the workshop are refunded at our discretion.




Children's art course - with Danielle Telfer. Tuesdays starting 6th November 4.30pm-6.30pm. £12.00 per week including paint (must be paid in advance of starting). A trial session is £15. We offer a discounted price for a sibling if you have more than one child wanting to attend. For children aged 7 and above. 

This course is designed to expand your child's artist skills. Each lesson will be split into 2 sections. The first is a taught section followed by an opportunity to work on their own personal projects. Each week they will be shown different techniques and reference work from different artists. The general plan of what the children will be learning is as follows:

Observational drawing techniques / setting personal projects. Artists: Adonna Khare, Da Vinci and Diego Fazio.
Uderstanding composition / continuation of personal projects. Artists: JMW Turner and Therese Holbein.
Tone and value / continuation of personal projects. Artists: Georges Seurat and Paul Signac.
Drawing in colour / continuation of personal projects. Artists: Wassily Kandinsky.
Painting techniques / continuation of personal projects. Artists: Vincent Van Gogh, Camden Town group.
Last week: Finalise personal projects / option to repeat an activity.
