Art & Craft Classes in Nottingham
Whether you're new to arts and crafts or have experience but want to brush up on your skills, we have something for everyone to enjoy. All our classes and workshops are taught by professional tutors and many even include the use of specialist tools and equipment. We also provide tea, coffee and biscuits to help keep the creativity flowing.
Our weekly classes include:

- Most of our weekly classes are £10 per week with you providing your own materials, with the exception of card making, which is £12.50 with materials provided, and silversmithing which is £15.
Our half and full day classes:
We run regular full day and some half day Saturday workshops, in areas such as drawing/sketching, painting, mixed media, silversmithing and crafts. The times for these are either 10:30am-4:00pm or 10:30am-1:30pm. Prices range from £25 - £70, depending on the length of the class and whether materials are included. Lunch can be ordered from The Local Not Global Deli, who put together a special menu for us, or you can bring your own - we have a kitchen area with a fridge and microwave. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.

Monoprinting. Saturday 23rd November 10.30am-4pm. £40 + materials. With Stephen Goulding.
This course is aimed at individuals who have an interest in printmaking, but have little or no experience of the process.
Monoprinting is both a creative and versatile process that requires no specialist tools or equipment. It enables you to create unique artworks within a relatively short space of time.
Prints can be created by either transferring a sketch/drawing onto a prepared, inked surface (Monoprint) or by wiping the inked surface with a cotton bud/cloth to produce areas of detail and shadow (monotype).
Any level of ability welcome.
Individual guidance given.
Cartridge paper / thick drawing paper / sketchbook roughly 190gsm (at least 6-8 sheets A3 size) Soft pencils (ideally 2B, 3B and 4B) Charcoal (optional) Sharpener or knife Eraser
Oliver Lovley is a fine artist based in Nottingham. He is a full member of The Society of Graphic Fine Art – The Drawing Society based in London. He has exhibited at The National Portrait Gallery, The Mall Galleries, Nottingham Castle Museum and The Djanogly Gallery, Lakeside Arts. Oliver runs a weekly life drawing class in Nottingham at the Hopkinson Antique Centre.
This course is designed to expand your child's artist skills. Each lesson will be split into 2 sections. The first is a taught section followed by an opportunity to work on their own personal projects. Each week they will be shown different techniques and reference work from different artists. A past example of what the children have learnt during the term is as follows:
Observational drawing techniques / setting personal projects. Artists: Adonna Khare, Da Vinci and Diego Fazio.
Uderstanding composition / continuation of personal projects. Artists: JMW Turner and Therese Holbein.
Tone and value / continuation of personal projects. Artists: Georges Seurat and Paul Signac.
Drawing in colour / continuation of personal projects. Artists: Wassily Kandinsky.
Painting techniques / continuation of personal projects. Artists: Vincent Van Gogh, Camden Town group.
Last week: Finalise personal projects / option to repeat an activity.

These classes are run in a relaxed way. The tutor will provide card samples that you can copy or adapt as you wish. We have a wide variety of stamps, die cuts, ink pads, pens, etc.... for you to use. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided.
Pay and play sessions offer you a chance to meet up with like minded crafters, whether you're interested in card making, scrapbooking or crafting in general. You will have access to a wide variety of tools and equipment as well as ink pads, pens and some patterned papers and embellishments. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided.

Drawing and Painting classes - with Danielle Telfer. Every Tuesday evening during school term time, 7pm-9pm. £10 per week excluding materials (payment in advance to secure your place).
A relaxed drawing and painting class for beginners and those with experience. The tutor Danielle will be on hand to offer advice and will demonstrate techniques as requested by the group or individual students.
Please bring your own materials. Booking is essential and the course fee must be paid up front to secure your place. Full refunds will be given if the course is cancelled or if you give us at least 1 weeks notice.

Watercolour classes - with Oliver Lovley. Every Tuesday during school term time, 1pm-3pm. £10 per week excluding materials (payment in advance to secure your place).
This course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience. Each class is run in a relaxed way allowing the students to work on their own projects with support from the tutor if they wish. Although this is a watercolour class, Oliver has experience of working in different mediums. He will be happy to discuss other drawing and painting techniques with you if you want to improve your skills in other areas.

Silversmithing - with Helen Domleo. Thursday 7-9pm. The next 6 week course starts on 7th Nov. The cost is £90 excluding silver, etc...
This course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience. Beginners will start by learning how to make a silver ring. You will then be given options of other projects to work on. These could include bangles, pendants, earrings or a chain bracelet. Those with experience can work on existing projects with support and guidance from the tutor. You can also develop techniques or learn new ones including fold forming or enamelling.
